BMEM Cardiomyocyte Plating is a ready-to-use, highly optimized, chemically defined, animal origin-free (AOF) solution for plating human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs)-derived cardiomyocytes after passaging and cryopreservation. 

BMEM Cardiomyocyte Plating contains an optimized concentration of agents and a BMEM-based buffered solution for optimal cell survival after passaging and cryopreservation. BMEM Cardiomyocyte Plating has been extensively tested for compatibility with hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes.

BMEM Cardiomyocyte Plating is recommend for use with hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes cultured in BMEM Protein-Free Cardiomyocyte Differentiation Kit (1003).

BMEM Cardiomyocyte Plating is compatible with thawing on to a variety of culture matrices, including: Corning® Matrigel® GFR (354230), Gibco™ Geltrex™ GFR (A1413202), R&D Systems™ Cultrex™ UltiMatrix GFR (BME001-05), SigmaAldrich® ECMatrix™-511 E8 Laminin (CC160), Acro Biosystems™ Human Laminin 521 Protein (LA5-H5215).

Each lot of BMEM Cardiomyocyte Plating is performance tested on hiPSC-CMs.

  • Step 1

After dissociating or thawing cardiomyocytes, plate them at 4 million cells per well of a 6-well plate (or equivalent) in BMEM Cardiomyocyte Plating for 48 h.

  •  Step 2

Aspirate medium and replace with BMEM Cardiomyocyte Maintenance Media supplemented with Insulin (5 µg/mL) and sodium selenite (20ng/mL).

  • Step 3

After 48 h, change the media to BMEM Cardiomyocyte Maintenance Media supplemented with sodium selenite (20 ng/mL).

  • Step 4

After 72 h, and every 72 h after, change the media to BMEM Cardiomyocyte Maintenance Media supplemented with sodium selenite (20 ng/mL).
